What Fathers Must Do

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

The best things aren’t things
What Fathers Must Do

Fathers play a vital role in shaping the way our children view and treat the women in their lives. One of the most important lessons fathers can teach children is the value and importance of loving and respecting their mother.

First and foremost, it’s important for fathers to lead by example. Children will look to us as role models for how to treat the women in their lives. By showing our children that we love and respect their mother, we are setting the foundation for them to do the same.

But it’s not just about setting an example, it’s also about actively teaching and encouraging our children to show love and respect toward their mothers. As fathers, we can take the time to talk to our children about the importance of treating their mothers with kindness and understanding. We can also make sure to acknowledge and praise our children when we see them showing love and respect towards their mothers.

Teaching our children to love and respect their mothers also means teaching them about the importance of equality in relationships. We should be teaching our children that both men and women should be treated with the same respect and given equal opportunities.

We can also teach our children to understand that being a mother is not just a role, it’s a full-time job and a tough one, that needs patience, love, and respect. We should encourage our children to show gratitude to their mothers and be involved in helping with all tasks.

In conclusion, as fathers, we have a significant impact on the way our children view and treat women in their lives. By setting an example and actively teaching our children to love and respect their mothers, we are helping to shape them into kind and respectful adults. Let’s take this opportunity to be the best role models for our children and teach them the importance of valuing and loving their mother.

(This was written from my own experience. This post is not intended to normalize or suggest that there is only one type of family or that there is only one way to be in this world.  I wrote this post because it is a reminder to me that I need to constantly challenge and reassess how I interact with my wife and all women.)

Stop Judging Others

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

Stop Judging Others
Stop Judging Others

We live in a world where it’s all too easy to find faults in others and judge them for their actions or choices. But when we focus on judging others, we not only harm them but also ourselves. It takes away from the energy and time we could be using to better ourselves and our surroundings.

When we judge others, we create a negative and divisive atmosphere. It creates a barrier between us and the people around us, making it difficult to connect and understand one another. It also prevents us from seeing the good in others and in ourselves.

But when we choose to look for the good in others, we open ourselves up to a world of positivity and understanding. We see the best in people, rather than focusing on their flaws. This positive perspective allows us to connect with others on a deeper level and find common ground.

Looking for the good in others also has a profound effect on our own self-esteem and self-worth. When we see the good in others, it becomes easier to see the good in ourselves. We start to appreciate our own strengths and accomplishments and become more confident in who we are.

It’s important to remember that everyone has their own journey and their own struggles. We may not always understand or agree with the choices and actions of others, but it’s not our place to judge them. Instead, let’s choose to focus on the good in others and in ourselves.

In conclusion, judging others not only harms the person being judged but also harms ourselves. By choosing to focus on the good in others, we create a positive and understanding atmosphere. It also helps us to appreciate our own strengths and become more confident in ourselves. Let’s make a conscious effort to stop judging others and start looking for the good in them.

Put down your phone

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

Make sure you never forget that the people around you are always more important than the “next best thing” on your tablet or smart phone. Many of us get so caught up in our technology that we forget to notice the people around us.  Never let those you love feel as if you love your phone or tablet more than them.

Wrong path

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

It is important to Stop and assess where you are and where you are going. Although it is not always the perfect indicator, passion is often one sign that you are on the correct path. If you hate what you are doing that is also a pretty good sign that you are on the wrong road. There is a big difference between being on the wrong road and being on a difficult one. Don’t quit just because it is hard.

You never get poor by giving

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

If you give, you will never be poor. If you hold on to everything you have, it doesn’t matter what you have – you are poor. We are all called to share ourselves with others. Give and you shall receive. Too many people are unhappy because their sole focus is on what they are getting instead of focusing on what they can give.

Where am I?

January 27, 2023 by Signmaker

Where am I?
Where am I?

As we navigate through life, it can be easy to feel lost and uncertain of which direction to take. We may have a general idea of where we want to go, but without a clear understanding of where we currently stand, it can be difficult to make any real progress. This is why knowing where you are is one of the most important steps in finding your way.

When we don’t know where we are, we can feel like we’re wandering aimlessly, without a clear sense of purpose or direction. But when we take the time to assess our current situation, we gain a better understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. This allows us to make more informed decisions about where we want to go and how we plan to get there.

Think of it like a map. If you have a map but cannot tell where you are on the map, it will be difficult for you to use it to find your way. Similarly, if we don’t take the time to understand our current position, it will be challenging to create a plan to reach our goals.

Knowing where you are also allows you to set realistic and achievable goals. Without this understanding, our goals may be too ambitious or unrealistic and can lead to disappointment and frustration. But with a clear understanding of our current situation, we can set goals that are challenging but also attainable.

In life, we may not always know exactly where we are going, but by understanding where we are currently, we can make more informed decisions about our path forward. So take the time to assess your current situation, understand your strengths and weaknesses, and set realistic goals. This will not only help you find your way but also give you a sense of direction and purpose.
